Our Experience
If you follow me on social media then you know how excited I was to receive the Shiller Learning Math 1 Kit. The resources included with the kit are amazing. You can check out the full unboxing on my YouTube channel to get a better look at everything included with the Math 1 Kit. I love the hands-on approach that Shiller Learning has to math. Before we even got started, my kids were admiring all of the manipulatives, they couldn’t wait to dive in!
Aside from the inviting manipulatives, I really liked the layout of the lesson book and found it extremely helpful. Each lesson is straight to the point and gives instructions clearly so that parents know the materials needed for each lesson. I could easily prep for each morning before the kids got up, and I never felt overwhelmed or unprepared. Each lesson took us about 10-15 minutes to complete, so on many days we would complete multiple lessons.
What I love the most about the Shiller Learning Math 1 Kit is simply how fun it is to learn math. That is most definitely a sentence I never thought I would type or utter. Math was always a stressful and frustrating subject for me. The thought of being the one to teach it to my kids gave me a lot of anxiety. Introducing math to my children using the Shiller Learning Math 1 Kit has completely changed my mindset toward a subject that I previously did not like (at all). The mathematical concepts are introduced gently and in a fun way, which my kids thoroughly enjoyed.
Final Thoughts
We honestly have enjoyed using the Shiller Learning Math 1 Kit in our homeschool. The lessons have been enjoyable and engaging. If you are looking for an all in one math curriculum, I would recommend giving the Shiller Learning Math 1 Kit a try!
